     Hidden Hills Huskies

Hello and welcome. My name is Elaine D. Murray and I am proud and honored to serve the community
as the principal of Hidden Hills Elementary School. Please know my office is always open to all
parents, students and community members. My goal is to build trust through a high level of open
communication to ensure that the future global leaders of tomorrow, the students attending Hidden Hills,
have the highest quality education possible and the personal integrity to excel as a contributing member
of the community. To successfully accomplish this, it takes input from all stakeholders.
Let me tell you a little about me . . .
I was born in Massachusetts in a small navy town just outside of Boston. I moved to Phoenix in 1976
and never looked back. This is home.
I am the proud mother of three, all of whom attended and graduated Paradise Valley schools. I
graduated Arizona State University with my Bachelors of Education in 1993, Northern Arizona State
University with my Masters in Education in 1999 and again in 2009 with a Masters in Educational
Leadership. I was honored as Arizona Middle Level Association Teacher of the Year in 2007.
I began my career as a special education teacher at Desert Shadows Elementary in 1993. The following
year I moved to Foothills Elementary as the technology teacher. During my tenure at Foothills I also
taught 6th grade, with a focus on social studies, a year at 3rd grade,, as well as being a teacher trainer of
various topics for many years. I was presented the chance to move to Sunrise Middle School in 2002
where I taught 7th grade English, art and math, was English department chair, and sponsored a number
of student groups including National Junior Honor Society and Student Council until my move into
administration in 2008.
My charge is to ensure an excellent education both academically and in character during these very
formative years of a child’s life along with providing for the well being of all students and staff
on campus; all of which I take very seriously and work diligently to provide. Guiding students in
appropriate choices is an ongoing, cooperative endeavor between parents and school and something I
welcome and encourage. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have or to
simply introduce yourself.
